Job Description Summary

The Parking Operations Manager will be responsible with the day-to-day operations of the Transportation Services Office including supervision of office assistants, enforcement officers, and shuttle services manager. Duties include oversight of campus parking enforcement, collection of fees, and overall maintenance of Transportation Services equipment including meters and enforcement equipment.

The Parking Operations Manager may be required to issue citations for parking violations on campus property.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

1. Responsible for management and maintenance of parking enforcement software and equipment including T2 Flex, eBiz, handheld units, meters, and lot gates.
2. Responsible for inventory and lot maintenance including recommendations for painting, signage, and other necessary improvements.
3. Maintain an excellent communication plan to ensure clear and transparent guidelines and procedures are shared with students, faculty, staff and visitors.
4. Review and provide annual recommendations for parking and storage space on campus.
5. Manage campus enforcement policies and monitor citations given on campus.
6. Manage citation appeals process.
7. Hire, train, supervise, and schedule staff.
8. Develop staff skills through training, supervision, and evaluation.
9. Assist with establishing departmental policies/procedures.
10. Respond to and/or escalate inquiries from faculty, students, staff, vendors, contractors, and visitors on parking-related questions.
11. Oversee assignment and distribution of permits to faculty, staff, students, vendors, contractors and visitors on campus.
12. Partner with Department of Public Safety and Police Services for campus enforcement and Motorist Assistance Program on campus (battery boosts, tire inflates, out of gas assistance).
13. Update/review campus parking maps.
14. Update/review Transportation Services website.
15. Prepare and run citation reports, ROVR unregistered vehicles, and manage oversight of all unpaid citations on campus.
16. Oversee towing procedures and manage towing of vehicles as necessary.
17. Oversee coordination and communications for any alterations of lot availability due to maintenance, snow removal, or campus events.
18. Attend departmental operations and planning meetings.

Required Education (minimum requirements)

• Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

• Two (2) years of supervisory experience; administrative supervision is executed over office staff, enforcement staff, and shuttle staff.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a management role, including responsibilities for hiring, staffing, evaluating, directing, organizing, prioritizing, training, disciplining and complaint resolution.
• Basic knowledge sufficient to create and edit documents in Word, Excel, Web-based applications and other software applications using a personal computer.

• Demonstrated experience working in a campus environment, with established policies and procedures.

• Ability to use Banner, Banweb, Perceptive Content, WebFocus, T2 Flex,
and eBiz.
• Knowledge of campus buildings, facilities, structures, and lots.

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and tastes or smell.

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
