|Job Description Summary||
As a member of the Information Technology team, this position will have substantial responsibility for the design of network systems and network programming in the following areas: determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications; the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, or modification of network infrastructure systems or programs. This position works in conjunction with technical staff and IT leadership to propose and set enterprise wide technology architecture direction. This position will define architecture road maps, standards, and processes which align closely with IT and University strategy and provide the most effective combination of business fit, strategic and innovative evolution of technology as well as business risk solutions. This position will operate with a vision and perspective of technology evolution that is 3 – 5 years out.

|Required Education (minimum requirements)||
• Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications engineering, network engineering, electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, electronics, computer network and system administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
|Required Experience (minimum requirements)||
• Four or more years of professional TCP/IP internetworking design experience.
|Desirable Education and/or Experience||
• Demonstrated knowledge of network applications and application-layer protocols.
|Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements)||
• Understanding of business drivers and stakeholder requirements; understanding of documentation and architectural frameworks.

• Demonstrated organizational efficiency and ability to work both independently and on a team and perform duties and responsibilities under tight deadlines.
