Job Description Summary

To provide clerical support and assistance to the academic employment services area in the Human Resources Department. Must be able to positively represent the department and respond to the needs of external customers as well as university students, faculty, staff and administrators.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

· Provide assistance to the manager of academic employment with the hiring process.
· Provide support to the area of immigration services as needed.
· Preview faculty employment forms and route for additional signatures.
· Assist with requests for data and prepare reports regarding faculty personnel.
· Assist with the faculty promotion and tenure process.
· Use advanced features of departmental software; create database/spreadsheet files to organize and maintain data, and utilize word processing software to develop correspondence and other written materials.
· Greet and assist customers in a friendly, courteous manner; respond to inquiries and provide information on department services. Assist with department specific events.
· Assist in maintaining faculty database (ASPIRE) and files for all faculty.
· Back up for Human Resources front line customer service responsibilities.
· Backup as needed for Banner data entry of non student employee information along with Electronic Personnel Action Form (EPAF) processing (reviewing the edits and applying to the database).
· Enter information in the Banner system as needed for employment services and HRIS.
· Utilize PeopleAdmin system to assist departments in faculty hiring and assist applicants with inquiries.
· Apply faculty summer EPAFs in Banner.
· Other duties as assigned.

Required Education (minimum requirements)

· High school diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

· 4 years office professional/clerical experience.
· 4 years of experience using personal computers and basic software packages.
· Experience using advanced features of word processing and spreadsheet/database software packages.
· 2 years of experience in a customer service environment.
