Job Description Summary

Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer in Psychology, starting August 20, 2018.

We seek an individual who will work well with faculty, administrators, off-campus partners, and students.

Lecturers are appointed for two year renewable terms and there is an opportunity for promotion to Senior and principal Lecturer. Summer teaching, with additional compensation, may be available.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

• Teaching undergraduate psychology courses, including Introduction to Psychology and courses in the areas of clinical, cognitive and developmental psychology. The teaching load for this position may be up to 12 credits per academic semester.
• Provide academic advising for undergraduate Psychology students.
• Coordinate undergraduate internships.
• Assist with curriculum assessment.

Required Education (minimum requirements)

Master’s degree in Psychology or related field.

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

Experience teaching at the college level (including GTA, lecturer, instructor, etc..

Desirable Education and/or Experience

PhD in Psychology or a related field preferred.

Experience with academic advising and developing online/blended-learning materials is desirable.

The Department of Cognitive and Learning Sciences offers an undergraduate program in psychology, a top 25 graduate program in applied cognitive science and human factors, secondary school teacher certification, and a MS program in Applied Cognitive Science and Human Factors.
