Job Description Summary

Michigan Technological University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for a non-tenure track Lecturer position starting August 2018. The Department seeks individuals with teaching expertise and experience in computer engineering, including digital logic design, hardware description language, microcontrollers, embedded systems, assembly language, and computer-aided integrated circuit design.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

Basic responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in computer engineering, and the supervision and advising of senior-design projects. Other responsibilities may include occasional research support.

Required Education (minimum requirements)

MS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or related fields.

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

Classroom teaching experience in an accredited engineering program.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty and staff.

Desirable Education and/or Experience

The Department seeks individuals with teaching expertise and experience in computer engineering, including digital logic design, hardware description language, microcontrollers, embedded systems, assembly language, and computer-aided integrated circuit design.

Experience in the following is desired:

Supervise TAs.
Large classroom teaching experience.
Online teaching experience.
Laboratory course design/instruction.
Learning Management System (LMS) experience.
