Job Description Summary

Michigan Technological University, a nationally recognized leader in science and engineering education and research, invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position in the CAC-ABET accredited Computer Network and System Administration (CNSA) program within the School of Technology. Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate classes and laboratories, promote the CNSA program through local, regional and national engagement, participate in program assessment activity related to accreditation and have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and student success.

Required Education (minimum requirements)

An earned Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Network, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely-related field from an accredited institution.

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

Appropriate technical expertise to teach IT courses in cybersecurity and database management.

Desirable Education and/or Experience

College/university teaching experience.

Three or more years of relevant industrial experience.

Relevant technical certifications.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements)

Computer and presentation skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

Appropriate technical expertise to teach IT courses such as scripting, network administration, Linux administration, and storage area networks.

Work Environment and/or Physical Demands

The work environment is that of a typical office and/or classroom setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
