Job Description Summary

The position entails resolving conflicts through informal mediation and serving as a resource in conflict resolution prior to the filing of formal grievances.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)

1. The position entails resolving conflicts through informal mediation and serving as a resource in conflict resolution prior to the filing of formal grievances.
2. The Ombuds Officer will be responsible for confidential informal interaction with individuals and groups and will provide information on University policies and resources.
3. The Ombuds Officer is also responsible for conducting conflict resolution workshops and coaching for the Michigan Tech community.

Required Education (minimum requirements)

Must be currently employed as a regular faculty and/or staff.

Required Experience (minimum requirements)

Familiarity with University policies and resources is required.
